1868.] OF THE SENATE. 339 MONDAY, March 2, 1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Miller. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Carroll, Fields, Grove, Henkle. Hyland, Hammond, Lee, Maddox, Miller, Malone, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Welch—15. On motion by Mr. Grove, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings to introduce a bill to repeal section 30, Article 47, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with amendments. On motion by Mr. Denson, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro- duce a bill relating to goods, wares and merchandise, in store and in transit, and to make receipts and bills of lading therefor negotiable. On motion by Mr. Fields, it was Ordered, That hereafter the Senate will hold night ses- sions, meeting at 7 1/2 o'clock, P.M., on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night of each week, commencing with Tuesday night of this week. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of January, 1864, chap. 334, entitled an Act to incorporate the Washing- ton county Rail Road, Which was read the second time. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 14 of the Act passed March 13th, 1867, entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore and Hall's Springs Railway Company, and to re- enact the same with amendments. Which was read the second time. Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Baltimore and Jerusalem Turnpike Company, passed at January session, 1867, so as to increase the capital stock of the said company. |
