S06 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 27, THURSDAY, February 27,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hammond. Present at roll call : Messrs. Browne, Clarke, Carroll, Denson, Earle, Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Lee, Maddox, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Walsh, Welch—17. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the fol- lowing : House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Patapsco Guano Company of Baltimore. Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Corporations. Also, House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller and Treasurer, when ascertaining the amount of paid up subscrip- tions to the capital stock of the Dorchester and Delaware Rail Road Company, to estimate the bonds of Dorchester county which have been disposed of by the said company as cash, and those remaining in the possession of said company as cash at a specified rate per cent. Which was read the first time and referred to Senators from Dorchester, Somerset and Caroline. Also, House bill entitled an Act to incorporate a company to make a turnpike road from Wood Point to the Pennsylvania line,ortoWilliamsport and Mercersburg Road, in Wash- ington county. Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. Also, House bill entitled an Act to prohibit horse racing on the public roads of Queen Anne's county. Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators from Queen Anne's, Calvert and Kent. Also, House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com- missioners of Frederick and Carroll counties to aid in the completion of the Woodsboro' and Pike Greek Turnpike Road Company. |
