Gentlemen of the Senate :

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
the appointment of a joint committee consisting of three mem-
bers on the part of this House, and two on the part of the Senate,
to take into consideration the message of the Executive, and ac-
companying papers relative to the election of the Hon. Philip
Francis Thomas, to the Senate of the United States, and have
appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Syester, Stewart,
of Dorchester, and Blake, on the part of the House.
