The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
On motion by Mr. Walsh, it was

Ordered, that the Committee on Militia be and it is hereby
requested to inquire into the expediency of organizing and
properly equipping one or more companies of cavalry in each,
of the counties of the State, so as to be prepared to act at
any moment that their services may be required as a military
police.

On motion by Mr. Parker, of Worcester,
The rules were suspended by the following vote :

AFFIRMATIVE.
