WEDNESDAY, January 22, 1868.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt.
Present at roll call:

Messrs. Browne, Brewer, Carroll, Denson, Earle, Fields,
Grove, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Lee, Miller, Malone,
Parker, of Calvert, Parker, of Worcester, Snyder, Smith,
Walsh, Welch—20.

Mr. Snyder submitted a memorial from the Faculty of
Washington University of Baltimore, asking for pecuniary
assistance.

Which was read, and on his motion referred to Committee
on Finance.

On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Somerset and
Worcester to report a bill providing for the issue of execu-
tions on judgments rendered in Somerset and Worcester
counties against defendants resident in Wicomico county.

On motion by Mr. Parker.

Leave was granted to the Senators from Somerset and
Wicomico to report a bill to repeal the 32d section of Article
22, of the Public Local Laws for Worcester county, title regu-
lating the terms of Court for said county, and to re-enact the
same with amendment.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Anne Arundel county.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Hooversville and Baltimore
Turnpike Company.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to refund to Henry Tydings and Lewis Tydings certain
taxes paid in error.

On motion by Mr. Lee, it was

Ordered, That the report of the Superintendent of Labor
and Agriculture be referred to a joint committee of the two
Houses, to consist of five members of the Senate, and seven
of the House of Delegates, with instructions to report a bill
