Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, was excused from voting.
Amendments proposed :

107th. Page 49, section 7, strike out the words "State
Commissioner of Education," and insert the words State
Treasurer.

107 1/2. Page 48, strike out section 6 and insert, As soon as
the Comptroller shall have received from the City of Balti-
more and the several counties returns of the amount of State
School Tax levied in each county and the city of Baltimore,
he shall immediately thereafter apportion the amount of the
whole levy to the several counties and the city of Baltimore,
in proportion to their respective populations, between the
ages of five and twenty years, and the State Treasurer shall,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, pay over the amount of
the whole levy to the proper officers in the city of Baltimore,
and the several counties authorized to receive the same.

108th. Page 49, section 7, line 6, strike out the words
"said State Commissioner," and insert in lieu thereof, the
Board of Trustees of the State Normal School.

109th. Page 49, line 6, strike out the word "Treasurer,"
where it occurs, and insert the word Comptroller.

110th. Section 2, line 1, insert after the word "Treasurer"
the words, on the warrant of the Comptroller.

111th. Page 50, section 8, line 4, strike out from the word
"to," where it first occurs, to the end, and insert the words
Trustees of the State Normal School.

112th. Page 50, strike out section 10, and insert:

And be it enacted, That this law shall take effect on the
