77th. Section 1, end of section, add:

And for the government of the Normal School and the
election of the Principal and Professors thereof, the Gover-
nor shall nominate, and with the advice and consent of the
Senate, appoint at the present session of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, and at every regular session thereafter,
three persons to be styled the Board of Trustees of the Mary-
land State Normal School ; said board shall elect a Treasurer
who shall also be the Secretary, at a salary of three hundred
dollars per annum, who shall give bond in such amount as
the board may direct. The Principal of said school shall
receive a salary of $2,500 per annum, and the Professors and
Teachers of the model school shall receive such salaries as the
board may decide.

78th. Page 19, chapter 4, section 1, line 7, after the word
"vote," insert and the School Commissioners for the several
counties shall give at least ten days public notice of such
elections by advertisement in the newspapers of the county
or Baltimore city.

79th. Section 12. The principal of the State Normal School
shall have the general supervision of all the Public Schools
in the State.

80th. Amend the amendment by striking out all after the
word "State," where it occurs the second time.

81st. Section 13. He shall on or before the 15th day of
January in each and every year make a report to the Gover-
nor of the condition of the Schools of the State, a state-
ment of the apportionment of money to the counties
and the city of Baltimore for the support of schools, an
abstract of the reports received from County School Com-
missioners, and shall make such suggestions for the improve-
ment of schools, and the advancement of public education as
he shall deem expedient.

82d. Section 14. And the Governor shall cause 3,000
copies of, said report to be printed and distributed to the
members of the Legislature in those years in which there is
no session of the Legislature,

83d. Page 38, chapter 14, section 1, line 2, strike out
"State Commissioners," and insert Principal of the State
Normal, School.

84th. Page 38, chapter 14, line 3, strike out "State
Board," and insert said Principal.

85th. Amend by striking out section 4, page 39.
86th. Chapter 16, section 1, line 1, strike out the word
"shall," and insert the word may.

87th. Amend chapter 15, section 2, by striking out sec-
tion 2.
