Joint Resolution relating to the banking institutions of
this State.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

Also, reported

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the American Life
Insurance and Trust Company to settle any outstanding
transactions in which it may be interested.

Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings and report adopted."

Also, delivered the following :

BY THE SENATE,

March 20th, 1868.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of two from the Senate and three
from the House, to whom shall be referred the report of the
Joint Committee from the two Houses of the last General
Assembly to meet a similar committee appointed by the
Legislature of Virginia, in February, 1867, to adjust and
mark the Eastern Shore boundary between the two States,
the result of their work to be submitted to the Legislatures of
the said States for approval or rejection ; and concur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Hyland and Smith.

Secretary.

On motion of Mr. Coudy,

The House proceeded to the consideration of bills entitled
to a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the 31st section of Ar-
ticle 24, of the Code of Public General Laws, title Convey-
ancing, sub-title Mortgages, by adding thereto and re-enact-
ing as follows,

Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as
