made, which he or they mean to adopt and abide by as part or
parts of said new location ; and it shall be the duty of the sur-
veyor to locate said additional courses as directed, and he shall
not locate again the said remaining courses which are already
located, nor shall he charge fees as if the said courses had again
been located ; and a location made in pursuance of this section
shall be available to every intent as if the whole tract had been
located, as is now practised.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no person shall hereafter sell, barter, exchange, or other-
wise dispose of, or offer to sell, any token or device which may
be intended in fact as a substitute for any ticket, or part of a
ticket, in any lottery, or any instrument, which may, directly
or indirectly, refer to any lottery.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That no person shall hereafter
sell, barter, exchange, or otherwise dispose of, or offer to sell,
any token or device which in fact may or shall be accepted by
the purchaser thereof, as and for a ticket, or part of a ticket, or
as evidence of a right to the avails, in part or in whole, of any
ticket in any lottery.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That no person shall hereafter
sell, barter, exchange, or otherwise dispose of, or offer to sell,
any instrument, which may, directly or indirectly, refer to any
device or any other instrument — be the terms of such device
or other instrument what they may — which may be intended
in fact to evade the lottery system of this state, or the laws
thereof, in relation to the said system.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That no person shall hereafter
barter, exchange, or otherwise dispose of, sell, or offer to sell,
any instrument, token or device — be the terms thereof what
they may — which may in fact be intended to evade the lottery
system of this state, or any of the laws thereof, in relation to
such system.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That any person violating any of
the aforesaid provisions, shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and on conviction thereof, as in other criminal cases,
shall, for the first offence, be fined a sum not less than fifty
dollars, nor more than five hundred dollars ; for the second of-
fence, shall be fined as aforesaid, and be confined in the com-
mon jail of the county where the conviction may be had, for a
term not exceeding six months ; and for the third offence shall
be fined as aforesaid, and imprisoned for a term not less than
one year, nor more than two years,
