LAWS OF MARYLAND.— 1827.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person so appointed by
the court, before he proceeds to act, shall take an oath or affir-
mation (as the case may be) before some justice of the peace,
that he will faithfully without favour, affection or prejudice,
perform the service for which he was appointed by the court;
which oath or affirmation shall be certified by said justice of
the peace, before whom such oath or affirmation shall be taken,
which certificate shall accompany such return as the sur-
veyor shall make to the court, from which such appointment
emanated.
