SEC. 4, And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
heretofore passed, that may be repugnant to, or inconsistent
with the provisions of this act, be, and the same are hereby
repeated.

CHAPTER 59.

AN ACT to punish such persons as destroy Indexes and Pointers on Public
Roads.

repealed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all persons who shall wantonly and maliciously impair
or destroy any index in wood or stone, or any pointer erected
for the information and benefit of travellers on public roads in
this state, shall be fined a sum not exceeding five dollars for
every separate injury to such index or pointer, to be recovered
and collected as other small fines, one-half to the informer, and
the other half to the use of the county, where conviction for
said offence shall take place.

Penalty.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in any prosecution under
this act, the informer shall be, and he or she is hereby made a
competent witness to prove the fact

CHAPTER 63.

AN ACT to relieve Executors and Administrators from the obligation of
performing the duties of Guardians, as is required by an act passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and twenty, chapter one hundred
and seventy-four.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no executor, executrix, administrator or administratrix,
shall be bound in any manner to discharge and fulfil the duties
of guardian after the close of their administration, or after the
end of three years from the granting such letters of administra-
tion ; any thing in the act of assembly, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and twenty, chapter one hundred
and seventy four, to the contrary notwithstanding.

Relieved.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained
shall be so construed as to relieve executors and administrators
from the duty of accounting with the orphans court or other-
wise, for the manner in which they have performed the trust
imposed on them so long as they shall have acted as guardian
according to the directions of the above recited act.

CHAPTER 65.
AN ACT relating to actions of Replevin.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That in all cases where an apprentice hath been or hereafter
shall be taken from or detained against the will or consent of
his or her master or mistress, the master or mistress, as the
