in like manner, as they are now authorized by the act to which
this is a supplement to examine executors or administrators.

Claimants
neglecting.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in all cases where a claim or
claims, against a deceased persons estate, shall be known to the
executor or administrator of such estate, and such claimant or
claimants shall delay, neglect or refuse to bring in his, her or
their claim or claims, legally authenticated, after notice given as
directed in the thirteenth section of the eighth chapter of the
act to which this is an additional supplement and within the
time limited in such notice, such claimant or claimants shall be
in the same situation to all intents and purposes with regard to
his, her or their claims, as those whose claims are unknown to
the executor or administrator, any thing contained in the act to
which this is an additional supplement to the contrary notwith-
standing.

CHAPTER 141.

AN ACT to disseminate Literature in this State.

Tuition.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly* That from
and after the passage of this act, that each school, academy
or college, that receives a donation in money from this state
shall afford tuition in all the branches of learning taught in
such school, academy or college, and shall furnish the neces-
sary school books, free of any charge, to at least one poor child
for every hundred dollars that each school, academy or college,
receives from the state.

Selection of
children.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
trustees of each school, academy or college, receiving a donation
in money from this state, to select the number of children to be
educated agreeably to the provisions of this act from among the
poor children of the county or counties to which such school,
academy, or college belongs, having due regard to the pecuniary
situation of the persons so selected.

Annual
return.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
trustees of the several schools, academies and colleges, that
receive donations in money from this state, to make an annual
return to the legislature of the number of poor children edu-
cated at their respective schools, academies or colleges.

CHAPTER 147.
AN ACT to repeal the fourth and fifth sections of an Act, entitled, an Act
to relieve the people of this State, as far as practicable, from the evils
arising from the demands made on the Banks of this State for Gold and
Silver by Brokers, and to prohibit the officers of the several Banks from
buying and selling Bank Notes of the Banks of this State at a less price
than their nominal value, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and eighteen, chapter one hundted and ninety -one.
