council by the law, entitled, ari act respecting the debts due to
this state, and the debtors thereof, and for other purposes, passed
in the year eighteen hundred and two,* and also by the sup-
plement to that act passed in the year eighteen hundred and
three, t in relation to British property confiscated, or liable to
confiscation, shall be hereafter possessed and exercised by them
over any such property which may be discovered to them, and
that six months from the time of any such discovery be allowed
to compound for such property, and upon payment being made
for any such property sold by the governor and council, deeds
shall be made by the chancellor, as provided by the act afore-
said.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the inspectors* of the penitentiary of this state, or any three of
them, shall have power to bind as apprentices, the free male
convicts whose times of labour in that institution shall expire
before they are of age, and they are further empowered, in their
discretion, to bind as an apprentice, until the age of sixteen
years, any free female convict whose term of service shall be
ended before they have attained that age, and also to bind as
apprentices the children of female convicts born during their
time of service, the males until twenty-one, and females until
sixteen years of age; and the indentures or contracts of appren-
ticeship so made, shall be recorded in the orphans court of Bal-
timore county within the time and under the like penalties, as
are prescribed for recording other indentures of apprenticeship.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon the dismissal or with-
drawing of any petition for the benefit of said acts, or upon de-
cisions thereon against the petitioner, it shall not be necessary
to revive by scire facias any judgment which may have been
suspended by such petition, and process of execution may be
