The offences herein after mentioned, affecting private property, to be

 

punished in manner following:

 

1st. Simple larceny, to the value of five dollars and upwards, or as ac-

 

cessary before the fact — restoration or payment of the value, and

 

confinement, &c. not less than one nor more than fifteen years.

 

2d. Robbery, or as accessary before the fact — restoration or pay-

 

ment of the value, and confinement, &c. not less than three nor

 

more than ten years. 3d. Stealing any horse, &c. or as accessary

 

before the fact — restoration or payment of the value, and confine-

 

ment, &c. not less than two nor more than fourteen years. 4th.

 

Maliciously slabbing or killing any horse, &c. not the property of

 

the person, or trespassing on his enclosures — confinement, &c. not

 

less than one nor more than four years. 5th. Stealing any ship,&.c.

 

of seventeen feet keel, or upwards, from within the body of any

 

county, or on Chesapeake bay, within the jurisdiction of the state,

 

or feloniously taking and carrying away any negro or other slave,

 

or aiding, &c. — restoration of the vessel or slave, or payment of

 

the value, and confinement not more than twelve years. 6th.

 

Stealing personal goods under the value of five dollars, or breaking

 

into a shop, &c not contiguous to or used with any mansion-

 

house, and stealing money, &c. under the value of one dollar —

 

restoration or payment of the value, and confinement, &c. not less

 

than three months nor more than one year. The same course of

 

trial to be had as in other simple larcenies, and the person on con-

 

viction deemed guilty of petty larceny. 7th. Robbery or larceny

 

of a bond, &c. for payment of money, lottery ticket, will, &c. —

 

same punishment as for robbery or larceny of goods and chattels.

 

8th. Knowingly receiving stolen money, goods or bonds, &c. for

 

the payment of money, lottery ticket, &c. — restoration or payment

 

of the value, and confinement, &c. not less than three months, nor

 

more than ten years. 9th. Fraudulently employing an artist to en-

 

grave, or being engaged in engraving any plate in imitation of bank

 

notes of this state, &c. or striking impressions therefrom, or fixing
