An ACT, entitled, a Supplement to an Aet, passed December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty- three,. chapter one hundred and forty-four,
entitled, an Act for the re-assessment and re-valuation of all the Real
and Personal Property in Washington County .—1835, ch. 18.

 

Be it .enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the commissioners of Washington county, be and they are
hereby authorized to appoint one or three persons, as they
may deem expedient, to re-value and assess all the real and
personal property in said county, according to the provisions
of the act to which this is a supplement.

CONSTABLES.
AN ACT relating to Constables' Fees in Washington County, and for other
purposes. — 1834, ch. 302.

WHEREAS, some sections of the county are very remote
from the jail, thereby subjecting the constables to great incon-
venience, and the compensation not adequate to the labour per-
formed in the delivering over to the jailor, persons committed ;
therefore,

Preamble,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act all constables in
Washington county, shall be entitled to receive, in addition to
the fifty cents now allowed, six and a fourth cents per mile, for
every mile they have to travel, after the first four miles, in de-
livering over to the jailor of Washington county, any person
on commitment.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That whenever any constable
shall find it necessary to summon any person to aid and assist
in taking to the jail, any person on commitment, he shall be
required to summon a constable if there is one convenient, and
whenever a constable or any other person shall be summoned
for the purpose of so aiding and assisting, he shall be entitled

That the persons qualified to vote for delegates to the general
assembly, in Washington county, shall at the time and places
of election in said county, on the first Monday in October next,
and on the first Monday of October in every two years there-
