SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That no informer shall be entitled
to any part of any fine unless the offence charged shall have
been proved by a disinterested witness, but in such case the
whole fine shall be paid to the levy court for the use of the
county.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of all
persons owning, commanding, or having charge of any boat or
vessel, while such boat or vessel may be in either of said coun-
ties, to charge and command all persons belonging to, or en-
gaged in the service of such boat or vessel, to be careful in the
discharge of any ballast of such boat or vessel, so that this act
shall not be violated, and if it shall appear that this act hath
been violated, from the negligence of the owner, commander,
or person having charge of any boat or vessel as aforesaid, such
person may be fined as aforesaid.

Repeal.
|
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
so much of the act of December session, eighteen hundred
and eighteen, chapter one hundred and eighty-four, as relates
to Somerset county, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
The act repealed is that for the better protection of slave-holders.
