Princess Anne town, Somerset county, whose duty it shall be
when called upon by any seller or purchaser of any fire-wood
to inspect and measure the same forthwith, as he in his judg
ment may think to be proper and just.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the
said corder of fire-wood, to charge and receive six cents am
one-fourth of a cent for each and every cord of fire-wood which
he may be called on to inspect and measure, to be paid by the
purchaser ; and on neglect or refusal of the purchaser to pay
the same, the said corder of fire-wood is hereby authorized tc
collect the same as other small debts are collected.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That before the said corder shall
proceed to inspect and measure any fire-wood, he shall take the
following oath, — I, A. B. do swear on the Holy Evangely oi
Almighty God, that I will inspect and measure fire-wood,
without favour or partiality, to the best of my knowledge, skill
and judgment, so help me God.

AN ACT to regulate the compensation of Jurors and Witnesses in Somerset
and Worcester Counties.—1832, ch. 113.

Oath

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That each and every juror hereafter to be summoned on the
regular panel of jurors, to the county courts of Somerset and
Worcester counties, shall be entitled to receive for each day in
which he shall attend as a juror, the sum of one dollar and fifty
cents, and in addition thereto, an allowance of six and a quarter
cents per mile, for every mile that his place of residence shall
be distant from the place of holding the county courts for

Somerset and Worcester counties, to be levied, collected, and
paid, in the same manner and at the same time, with his per
diem allowance, and he shall be entitled to receive mileage for
each day such juror shall attend the court.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That each and every witness
hereafter to be summoned to attend the county courts of Somer-
set and Worcester counties, shall be entitled to receive for
each day in which he or she shall attend as a witness, the sum
of seventy- five cents, and in addition thereto, an allowance of
four cents per mile, for every mile that his or her place of re-
sidence shall be distant from the place of holding the county
courts of Somerset and Worcester counties ; and to be levied
collected, and paid, in the same manner, and at the same time,
with his or her per diem allowance, and he or she shall be en-
titled to receive mileage for each and every day such witness
shall attend the court.
