LEVY COURT.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That not less than three mem-
bers of the said court shall form a board for the transaction of
business, a majority of whom may decide upon all matters
coming before them ; Provided, that the concurrence of three
of said members shall be required in passing accounts, direct-
ing the payment of money, or in making appointments to office.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said levy court shall
take such appeals as the commissioners of the tax are now re-
quired to take, at any of their meeting between the first day of
April and the last day of May, and for the purpose of taking
such appeals shall meet every day during the spring term of
the county court, and shall give notice in writing, to be set up
in some public place in each election district, ten days before
the commencement of said term, of the meetings to be held for
that purpose.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That such of any acts of assembly
as may be contrary to, or inconsistent with, the provisions of
this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That on the first Monday of October next, and on the first
Monday of every October thereafter, the persons qualified to
vote for delegates to the general assembly, shall vote by ballot

same qualifications as are required for said delegates, to serve
as members of the levy court of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the names of the persons
thus voted for shall be written or printed on the same ballot
which contains the names of the persons voted for as delegates
to the general assembly, and the office they are intended to

designation in voting for the said members of the levy court
shall a fleet or invalidate any vote that may be intended for other
purposes.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That every ballot which contains
the names of more than five persons for members of said levy
court, or the names of more than one person residing in the
same election district for said county, shall be rejected so far
as it relates to the election of said levy court, it being the in-
tention of this law that the said court shall consist of five mem-
bers, one to be chosen from each of the five election districts of
said county as now laid off.
