ASSESSMENT.

1761

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall appoint a place and day, between the fifteenth day of
May, and the fifteenth day of June, in the year aforesaid, for
the assessors, to appear and present to them, in wilting, the
valuation and assessment of the real and personal property of
said county, and plainly designate the piopeity which belongs
to each election district, in pursuance to the act to which this
is a further additional supplement.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
shall, in their discretion, allow the said assessors, a sum of
money not exceeding one hundred and fifty dollars, to each
of them, to be levied in their behalf, as other county charges
are.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That the commissioners of the
tax shall apportion the valuation of negro property in the same
relative ratio as the valuation on land and other personal
estate in said county.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That so much of the act to which
this is a further additional supplement; also, the act of 1822,
chapter 83, relative to the re-valuation and re-assessment of the
real and personal estate for Caroline county, as is repugnant
to, oi inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be, and the
same are heieby repealed.

valuation and re assessment of the Real and Personal Estate in Caroline
County, in this State, passed the present session. — 1831, ch 213.

Repealing

SEC. I. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act entitled, a further additional supplement to an
act, entitled, an act for the re-valuation and re-assessment of
the real and personal property within this state, so far as the
same relates to Caroline county, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one hundred and ninety-
one, passed at the present session, shall be, and is hereby sus-
pended in its operation until the first Monday in April, eighteen

hundred and thirty-three, except as far as relates to the com-
missioners of the tax therein appointed, and the appointment of
assessors by them therein authorized.

Except.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the assessors to be appointed
by the commissioners of the tax, under the act to which this is
a supplement, shall make theii return to the commissioners of
the tax on the first Monday in April, eighteen hundred and
thirty-three ; and shall be by them then received and acted on,
under the provisions of the act to which this is a supplement.
