SEC. 22. Trustees to rent a temporary house for the accommodation of
the poor.

AN additional SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act for the relief of
the Poor of Calvert County.— 1796, ch. 62.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this general assembly, that
the trustees appointed by a supplement to the act to which this
is an additional supplement, have not acted as trustees, in pur-
suance of their appointment,

Preamble.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy court of said county are hereby
empowered to appoint other persons as trustees of the poor of
said county, in the room of any of the said trustees that have
neglected, or shall hereafter neglect to act as such ; and in all
cases where any trustee appointed in virtue of this act shall
die, or neglect to perform the duties of his office, the said jus-
tices are in like manner empowered to appoint some other
trustee in his place.

Counties therein designated. — 1799, ch. 65.

AN ACT to authorize the Levy Court of Calvert County to sell the Poor-
house in said County, and for other purposes. — 1825, ch. 213.

SEC. 1 . Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy court for Calvert county, be, and
they are hereby authorized and empowered, if they shall deem
it expedient, to dispose of the poor-house and land belonging
thereto in said county, by sale or lease, upon such terms and
in such manner as they shall deem most beneficial for said
county ; and if sold, upon receipt of the purchase money, to
convey the same to the purchaser or purchasers thereof; and
if leased, to stipulate that there shall be no under-leasers, and
to make all other needful stipulations ; and if repaired, to apply
the money now due and appropriated to the purposes of the
poor-house and pcor therein, in the first instance, to the repairs
of said poor-house ; and after the same shall have been ex-
pended, to assess and levy a county rate or tax (to be collected
and paid as other county charges in said county are now au-
thorized to be collected and paid,) in case there shall be a defi-
ciency of funds for the completion of said repairs.
SEC. 2. Regulates proceedings against collectors, then in default, la not
paying over moneys.
