ORPHANS COURT.
AN ACT to increase the pay of the Judges of the Orphans Court in the
Counties of Baltimore, Dorchester and Washington. — 1818, ch. 45.

 

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, eaeh judge of the
orphans court for the counties of Baltimore, Dorchester and
Washington, be and he is hereby entitled to receive, in lieu of
his present per diem, the sum of three dollars for every day's
attendance.

PEOPLE OF COLOUR.
A further SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act relating to the People
of Colour in this State, passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eighty-one. — 1833, ch, 162.

Allowance
increased.

WHEREAS, by the act, entitled, an act relating to the people
of colour in this state, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eighty-one,
the proportion of tax to be paid by Baltimore city and county,
was not accurately defined ; therefore,

Preamble.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Baltimore county shall annually
hereafter levy and collect upon the taxable property of said
county, without the limits of the city of Baltimoie, -the sum of
one thousand two hundred and ninety-seven dollars and eighty-
six cents, and the mayor and city council of Baltimore, shall
annually hereafter levy and collect upon the taxable property

of said city the sum of one thousand nine hundted and forty-
six dollars and eighty cents, to carry into effect the provisions
of the act to which this is a supplement.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the com mission ers of
Baltimore county, and the mayor and city council of Balti-
more, shall on or before the first day of July next, pay into
the treasury of this state the sums respectively due by them,
under the provisions of the eighth section of the act above
referred to, that is to say, two thousand five hundred and
ninety-five dollars and seventy-two cents, by the said commis-
sioners, and three thousand eight hundred and ninety-three
dollars and sixty cents by the mayor and city council, the

same shall be considered as a full release of all claims for ar-
learages against the said city and county, due under the pro-
visions of the aforesaid act.
