COUNTY COURT.
AN Act relating to the Trial of Causes in Baltimore County Court.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act relating to the Trial of Causes
in Baltimore County Court. — 1824, ch. 65.
Merged in the laws classed under this subdivision, or in the act of 1827,
ch. 167, (see title, County Commissioners,) save so much of the 5th sec.
which requires the clerk to keep a separate docket.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
clerk of Baltimore county court, to keep a separate docket for
all business, originating in the county aforesaid, without the
limits of the city aforesaid, from that of the city ; and that all
expenses incurred in the prosecution of causes, suits or appeals,
and summoning jurors in Baltimore county court, while sitting,
for the sole transaction of the business arising within the city
aforesaid, shall be ascertained by the clerk of said court; and
the amount thereof certified by said clerk, separate and distinct
from that of the county to the levy court of said county, who
are hereby authorized and directed to assess and levy the same
on all the assessable property within the said city; and collect
the same as other charges are collected from said city, any
custom or usage to the contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT for the Compensation of the Judges of Baltimore County Court.

Additional
salaries.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That as a compensation for the additional services required of
the judges of Baltimore county court, by an act, entitled, an
act for the despatch of business in Baltimore county court,
there shall be paid by the treasurer of the western shore, out of
the moneys received by him from the clerk of Baltimore county
court, under the eighth section of the said act, to each of the
said judges, the sum of eight hundred dollars annually, by
quarterly payments, in addition to their salaries as established
by an act passed at November session, eighteen hundred and
five) entitled, an act to establish permanent salaries for the

judges of the judicial districts of this state ; Provided, the
amount so paid over to the treasurer by the clerk as aforesaid
shall be sufficient for that purpose, but should there be a defi-
ciency in any year, then the said judges shall be entitled to the
sum actually received by the treasurer during that year, to be
equally divided among them, in addition to their permanent
salaries as aforesaid, and to no more, and any excess of the
