BALTIMORE CITY.

 

inspectors and measurers of lumber for the city and county of
Baltimore, who shall be appointed in the same manner, and be
under the same regulations in all respects, that the eight are
who are appointed by the authority of the act to which this is
an additional supplement, or may be under this law, any thing
contained in the act to which this is a supplement, to the con-
trary notwithstanding.

AN additional SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to regulate the
Inspection of Lumber. — 1822, ch. 35.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it hath been found by experience that the desig-
nating of one of the wood-corders of the city of Baltimore, for
the first and tenth wards of the said city, in pursuance of the
sixth section of the act, entitled, (a supplement; to the act, enti-
tled, an act to regulate the inspection of 'lumber,' passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and seventeen, to be pro-
ductive of great inconvenience, the said first and tenth wards
being at a great distance apart from each other; therefore,

Repeal.

Be it enacted) by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, all such parts of the sixth
section of the act, entitled, 'a supplement to the act, entitled, an
act to regulate the inspection of lumber,' as enacts that one
of the additional wood corders authorized by the said act, shall
be 'designated as wood-corder for the first and tenth wards of
the city of Baltimore, who shall be authorized to act as wood-
corder in such wards only,' be, and the same is hereby repealed.

J3e it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland , That
from and after the passage of this act, all oak and poplar boards,
or planks of every kind, shall be marked and designated by the
inspector, according to the quality thereof, as follows, to wit:
all such as is of prime quality, according, to the existing laws,
shall be marked as such ; all other such boards or plank, which
are merchantable, shall be marked as second quality ; and such
as are not merchantable) shall be marked as cullings, or third
quality.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be the duty qf the inspectors of lumber, now ap-
pointed, or who may be hereafter appointed for the city of
Baltimore, to make regular quarterly returns in the months of
January, April, July and October, of the quantity and kinds
of lumber and shingles by them inspected in each year, said
