SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any such inspector shall

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That in case any such inspector

the duties of his office, which deputies shall be paid by the

inspector appointing them, and shall be accountable to him for
|
|
the faithful discharge of the duties of said office, and the inspec-
|
|
tor appointing them, shall be responsible for their acts in the
|
|
same manner as he would be, if done or committed by himself
|
|
personally, which said deputy or deputies shall take and sub-
|
|
scribe, the same oath or affirmation, as is required of the inspec-
|
|
tor, which oath or affirmation, when reduced to writing, shall
|
|
also be lodged in the office of the clerk of Baltimore county,
|
|
and recorded at the expense of the inspector.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That if any such inspector shall
|
delay in
inspecting.
|
omit or delay to inspect or cause to be inspected any parcel of
|
|
leather required by this act to be inspected, for a time exceeding
|
|
twenty-four hours after he shall have been requested to inspect
|
|
the same, he shall forfeit and pay to the owner of such parcel
|
|
of leather ten cents an hour upon each and every side of leather
|
|
therein contained, for so many hours as he shall omit or delay to
|
|
inspect the same, over and above the said term of twenty-four
