Penalty for
|
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
obstructing
landing, &c.
|
That if any person or persons in said city, shall attempt to pre-
|
|
vent or obstruct the landing, inspection and storage of salted
|
|
fish in said city, between the first day of November and the first
|
|
day of June in each and every year, on any public wharf or
|
|
place where salted provisions are usually landed and stored, he
|
|
or they so offending, shall forfeit and pay for each and every
|
|
offence, the sum of one hundred dollars, to be recovered in the
|
|
name of the state, before a justice of the peace, as other small
|
|
debts are recovered, one-half of which shall be appropriated to
|
|
the informer, and the other half to the use of the state, any act
|
|
of assembly, or of the mayor and city council of Baltimore, to
|
|
the contrary notwithstanding.

City wharfs
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all wharves and places of
|
declared
|
landing in the city of Baltimore, which are or may be owned
|
public.
|
by the mayor and city council of Baltimore, shall be, and they
|
|
are hereby declared to be? public wharves within the intent and
|
|
meaning of this act, and of the original act to which this is a
|
|
further supplement, and of the other supplements thereto.

Respecting
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful for the
|
wharfage.

of wharfage for barrels of salted fish, than for barrels contain-
|
|
ing any other salted provisions.
