sons, in the usual manner, as the chancellor may approve, and
on return of said commission, if no good objection be made
thereto in twelve months from the time of such return, the
chancellor shall and may order the same to be recorded in
perpetual memory, any law or usage to the contrary notwith-
standing.
SEC. 9. This act to continue three years, and unto the end
of the next session of assembly which shall happen after the
said three years.
Continued to 1803, and by November, 1803, and then renewed and con-
tinued in the annual continuance law thereafter.
NOVEMBER, 1779—CHAPTER 10.
AN ACT to explain the several acts of Assembly heretofore made relative to
the enrolment of deeds.
See 1715, ch. 47, and the notes.
Duration.
WHEREAS doubts have arisen in some of the courts of justice
of this state, whether the time limited by laws heretofore made
for the enrolment of deeds and conveyances should becomputed
by lunar or calendar months, and the computation by calendar
mouths being most agreeable to the common acceptation of the
word month, and great inconvenience might arise to many of
the inhabitants of this state by a different computation;
Preamble.
SEC. 2. Be it therefore enacted and declared, by the General
Assembly of Maryland, That in all cases where the enrolment
of deeds is directed by law to be made within six months from
the day of the date of the same deeds, the said months shall
be deemed and taken, and are hereby declared to be calendar
months.
CHAPTER 34.
AN ACT relating to the estates of deceased persons.
The provisions of this act are merged in 1798, ch. 101, and its supple-
ments; and the 4th sec. is also merged in 1805, ch. 65, and 1806, ch. 55.
CHAPTER 25.
An ACT for the regulation of Officers' Fees.

WHEREAS officers' fees can be rated, regulated and esta-
blished, by act of assembly only, and such an act is now expe-
dient and necessary.
Preamble.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no officer or officers hereafter mentioned in this present
act, their ministers, servants, or deputies, by reason or colour of
his or their office or offices, shall have, receive, or take, of any
person or persons, directly or indirectly, any other or greater
fees, which shall arise or become due after the commencement
of this act, than are hereafter limited and allowed to the several
