ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY.

Proviso.

execution of the duties of said office ; Porvided nevertheless,

 

that nothing herein contained shall prevent the said levy court

 

from re-appointing any of the existing trustees, if they in their

 

discretion shall deem it advisable and proper so to do.

Old trustees

.SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the existing trustees shall

over books,

meet at the aforesaid alms-house on the second Monday of

April next, and deliver over to their successors, to be taken

 

under their care and management, all books and papeis, and all

 

and singular the property belonging to the aforesaid alms-house,

 

under the penalty of forty dollars each, to be recovered and ap-

 

plied as other fines and forfeituies are directed to be recoveied

 

and applied in the aforesaid original act to which this is a

 

supplementary act.

SEC. 5. And be if enacted, That the trustees for the poor to be

ercise and enjoy all the powers, authorities, rights, property,

penalties for neglect of the duties of trustees for the poor of said

 

county, as are mentioned and declared in the said original act to

 

which this is a supplementary act, except the power of appoint-

 

ing new trustees or filling up casual vacancies in then own board,

 

and except so far as the same may be varied oi limited by the

 

provisions of this act ; and the alms-house situated in the same

 

county, and the lands, tenements, goods and chattels thereunto ap-

 

pertaining and belonging, shall be, and the same are hereby vested

 

in the trustees for the poor of the said county, and their suc-

 

cessors in that capacity to be appointed in virtue of this act, to

 

and for the uses and purposes mentioned and declared ip this

 

act, and the original act to which this is a supplementary act.

Vacancies.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That in all cases of vacancies hap-

 

pening by non-acceptance, death, resignation, removal out of

 

the county, or disqualification of any of the said trustees, the

 

vacancies thereby occasioned shall be filled up by the levy court

 

of said county at their next meeting which shall happen there-

 

after.
