SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That hereafter the sheriff shall
|
juries.

furnish the list of jurors to his deputies, and it shall be the
|
|
duty of said deputies to summon as jurors, only such persons
|
|
as shall be named in said lists.
|

CHAPTER 261.
|
|
AN ACT to authorize the Thomsonians or Botanic Physicians to charge
|
|
and receive Compensation for their Services and Medicine.
|
Grant.
|
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
|
|
from and after the passage of this act, it may and shall be law-
|
|
ful for each and evejry person, being a citizen of this state, to
|
|
charge and receive compensation for their services and medi-
|
|
cines, in the same manner as physicians are now permitted
|
|
to do.
|
|
CHAPTER 286.
|
|
A further SUPPLEMENT to the ACT, entitled, an Act to establish Pilots,
|
|
and regulate their Fees, passed at November session, eighteen hundred
|
|
and three.
|
Winter
|
SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
|
charges for
March.
|
That the pilots of the Chesapeake bay, or either, or any of
|
|
them, be and they are hereby authorized and allowed to charge
|
|
for their services, during the month of March, the same rates of
|
|
pilotage they are now by law allowed to charge in the months
|
|
of December, January and February.
|
Restriction
under 21
years of age.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful for the
board of examiners, or any other person or persons having au-
thority to grant warrants or licenses to pilots, to grant to any
|
|
person or persons under the age of twenty one years, a warrant
|
|
or license generally known as a first rate branch.
|
Vessels of
75 tons
shall take
first pilot.
|
S.EC. 3. And be it enacted, That every master of a merchant
vessel, sailing under coasting license, of the burthen of seventy-
five tons and upwards, coming from sea, shall be obliged to
receive the first pilot who offers to conduct or pilot his vessel,
|

Proviso.

and shajl continue the same pilot to his first port of discharge,
or shall pay to him full pilotage to said port; Provided, said
|
|
pilot shall speak or board said vessel before Cape Henry light-
|
|
house shall bear south ; And provided also, the said pilot shall
|
|
have a branch or license to the destined port of said vessel.
