SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That from and after the passage

said district courts, shall be interested in any matter of which

the said court would have jurisdiction if said two justices did

not form a part of said court, the remaining justice may and

shall hold jurisdiction of said matter, and constitute the court

for that purpose, and that any suit now pending before the said
|
|
|
courts in which any two justices as aforesaid shall be therein
|
|
|
interested, shall be heard, and determined by the remaining
|
|
|
justice as aforesaid.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That if all three of the justices
|

diction thereof entertained by any neighbouring district court of

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act to prohibit the owners of
|
|
|
Vessels, and others, from navigating the same, by and under the sole
|
|
|
command of Negroes or Mulattoes, passed at December session, eigh-
|
|
|
teen hundred and thirty-six, chapter one hundred and fifty.
|
|
|
Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland^ That
|
Act extend-

the provisions of the act to which this is a supplement shall

apply to any person or persons owning in whole or in part, or
|
vessels.

having hired in whole or upon shares, any schooner, sloop, or
|
|
|
other vessel registered, enrolled or licensed, under the laws of
|

the United States; and if any such owner or owners, or other

|
person or persons, of any such schooner, sloop or other vessel,
|
|
|
shall cause the same to be navigated contrary to the provisions
|
|
|
of the said act, or of this act, such schooner, sloop or other
|
|
|
vessel, together with all her tackle, apparel and furniture, or the
|
|
|
value thereof, shall be forfeited, and disposed of, according to
|
