CHAPTER 275.

 

AN ACT, Supplemental to the Act, entitled, an Act to establish Magis-

 

trates* Courts in the several Counties in this State, and to prescribe their

 

jurisdiction, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-

 

hve, chapter two hundred and one.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, doubts are entertained as to the true construction

 

of the duties of the chief justices of the several district courts, in

 

the delivery of papers and proceedings, in cases to be sent from

 

one district court to another, as provided in the twenty-first

 

section of the original act ; therefore,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That in all cases of suits, complaints or prosecutions, being

 

removed for trial from one district court to another of the same

 

county, as provided for in the twenty-first section of the act to

 

which this is a supplement, it shall be the duty of the chief

 

justice of the court before whom said suit, complaint or prose-

 

cution has been removed, to deliver all the papers and proceed-

 

ings of the case to a constable of the county, to be delivered to

 

the chief justice of the district court to which said suit, com

 

plaint or prosecution, shall have been oidered for trial.
