boat, tackle and apparel, and all things in and belonging to said
boat, shall be liable to be seized and distrained by the owner or
occupant of the shores of the said river for the damages done
in hauling such seine or seines on such shore, without permis-
sion from said owner or occupant; the amount of said damaged
to be ascertained by the valuation of a justice of the peace, or
by three citizens, to be summoned and sworn by any justice at
the request of any owner or occupant that makes the distress,
or seizes the property aforesaid ; and the articles of property, so
seized and distrained for damages done upon the shores, shall
be appraised and sold, and the seizure or distress be in every
way conducted and disposed of, as if the same had been laid by
a landlord for rent due and in arrear to him.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts of assembly, repug-
nant to this act, shall be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 316.
A further SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act for the relief of
sundry Insolvent Debtors, passed at November session, eighteen hundred
and five,*

WHEREAS, since the passage of the original act to which this
is a supplement, the duties of the justices of the orphans court
have been greatly multiplied, so far as they appertain to the
release of insolvent debtors, and the compensation is now
greatly inadequate to the services rendered ; therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
in all cases hereafter where a discharge is given by any justice
of the orphans court to any insolvent debtor, and it shall be
necessary for said justice to pass an order for the sale of the
effects of such insolvent, and to fix the per centage of the trus-
tee, he shall be allowed the sum of two dollars therefor, to be
paid by the trustee whose said order is passed, which sum shall
be credited to the trustee in making his distribution as part of
the expenses accruing in settling his trusteeship, and be de-
ducted from the general amount of assets in his hands.

CHAPTER 328.
A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT, entitled, an Act relating to the Records of
Conveyances in the several Counties of this State, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-three, chapter eighty-eight.

 

SEC. 1 . Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the clerks of the several county courts of this state, shall
receive, for making the records referred to in the first section of
the act, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-three, chapter eighty-eight, entitled, an act relating to the
record of conveyances in the several counties of this state, to
which this is a supplement, the same compensation to which
