CHAPTER 262

AN ACT to continue in force the Acts of Assembly which would expire
with the present session of the General Assembly.

continued.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all such acts, or parts of acts as would expire with the present
session of the general assembly, be and the same are hereby
continued in force, to the last Monday of December next, and

to the end of the session of the general assembly thereafter.

 

CHAPTER 264.
AN ACT Supplementary to an Act, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred and twenty -eight,
relating to the preservation of the Breed of Fish in the Patuxent River.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
if any person or persons, owning or hauling a seine or net in
the Patuxent river, shall employ, or in any manner countenance
the violation of a law passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-eight, to protect the breed of fish in said river,
the seine or net of the person or persons so offending, shall be
liable for the penalty annexed to a perpetration of the offence ;
Provided, that nothing contained in this act, and the act to

which this is a supplement, shall extend to St. Mary's county.

 

CHAPTER 265.
AN ACT Supplementary to an Act, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-nine, chapter eighty-seven, entitled, an Act to pro-
mote the preservation, improvement and increase of Shell Fish in this
State.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That an act passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-one, entitled, an act for the protection of oysters in the
waters of the eastern shore of this state ; and the supplement

thereto, passed at the present session, be, and they are hereby
declared to have full force and effect, in the waters of the
western shore of this state, except in the Chesapeake bay.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That all laws passed heretofore
on this subject, inconsistent with or repugnant to the provisions

as relates to the application of fines and forfeitures, which may
