CHAPTER 116.

. A further additional SUPPLEMENT to an ACT,* entitled, an Act for Quiet-
ing Possessions, Enrolling Conveyances, and Securing the Estates of
Purchasers.

mation.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland) That
all deeds or instruments of writing which have been taken,
executed and acknowledged within this state, since the first day
of September last, which may not have been signed and sealed
by any feme covert, as required by the act of December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty, chapter one hundred and sixty-
four, be and the same are hereby confirmed, and made valid to
all intents and purposes ; Provided, that in all other respects,
the act, entitled, an act for quieting possessions, and enrolling
conveyances and securing the estates of purchasers, and the
several supplements thereto, have been complied with.

 

CHAPTER 160.

AN ACT to provide for the Cession of Territorial Jurisdiction at Turkey
Point, in Cecil County, for the erection of a Light-house thereon, by
the Government of the United States.
SEC. 1, 3, 4. Are directory to the commissioners.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the right of jurisdiction of
the state of Maryland, in and over the land aforesaid, be and
the same is hereby relinquished, ceded and made over to the
United States aforesaid, for the purposes aforesaid.

A SUPPLEMENT to an ACT,* entitled, an Act for the protection of Sheep
in the several Counties of this State.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
if any dog or dogs shall be detected in killing or injuring any
sheep, and the same shall be proven, by oath or affirmation of
the owner of said sheep, or of any other person, being a compe-
tent witness under the laws heretofore existing in this state,
before a justice of the peace, that upon complaint and informa-
tion of such proof, to the owner or owners of said dog or dogs,
he, she or they, shall proceed forthwith to kill said dog, and on
his, her or their, refusal or neglect to do so, it shall and may be
lawful for the owner or owners of said sheep, to kill said dog or

upon him, producing the affidavit hereby required, to proceed
