70 WILLS and TESTAMENTS.
On the --- day of --- came A. B. the widow of
C. D. late of ------ county deceased, and quitted
her claim to the several bequest and devises
made to her in the will of her said husband deceased,
and elected in lieu thereof her dower, or
third part of the deceased's estate, both real
and personal.

her election to stand to, and abide by the several
legacies bequeathed to her in the will of her said
husband deceased, with regard to the personal
estate only, and that she claims her dower, or third
part, in the real estate, according to law.

Many widows, intending to accept of the
legacies bequeathed to them in lieu of their
thirds, take nevertheless the trouble of entering
such election with the commissary; such
declaration is needless, and may be omitted;
because the law concludes her by that bequest, |
