26 ACCOUNT.
The second class consists of recognizances.

The proper voucher of a recognizance, is a
short copy of such recognizance under seal,
signed, and attested by the clerk of the court,
where such recognizance was entered, and a
receipt thereon from the proper officer appointed
to receive the same: If it be a recognizance
of bail, then a short copy as aforesaid, and a
certificate of the clerk that the bail became
liable, with the receipt of the creditor; who
should also make a deposition to the effect
above directed, with the additional words following,
viz.
" And also that he hath not received any part of the
" debt, or any security or satisfaction for the
" same, (save what is credited) of the principal
" debtor.

The third class takes in all debts due for
rent and specialties, that is, bonds, protested bills
of exchange, returned within four years after the
date of such bill, (accounted a debt of equal
nature with any specialty, by act of 1715,
ch. 6,) and every kind of writing with a seal to
it; as also inland bills of exchange, orders or
negotiable notes; which last are by the act
1765, ch. 4, enacted to be deemed a debt of
equal nature with foreign protested bills of exchange, |
