What is to be
observed at
the time of
passing the account.
134        DIRECTIONS for EXrs. and ADMrs.

must appear, on being thereto summoned, and
in open court produce receipts for the payment
of the balance appearing due on the face of said
account,--which being complied with, they are
thence discharged:  but if no payment hath been
made, then they are to enter into bond, with
two sureties for the due performance thereof.
Which last transaction is final and conclusive,
as to any further proceedings before the commissary
general, by such executors or administrators.
 
    The further care and management of orphans,
and their estates, is from thenceforth committed
to the county courts; who are directed as to
the choice and appointment of guardians to orphans;
into whose hands the orphan's estate is
entrusted, until the orphan shall be of lawful
age to receive the same.
 
 
The following promiscuous collection of useful
    observations, is added, as a supplement
    to the aforegoing directions to executors and 
    administrators.
 
 
Negroes, 
how to be disposed
of.		     The frequent contentions between the administrators,
and the representatives of deceased
persons, with regard to the detention of negroes
