the said town as the judges
shall appoint, elect viva voce,
by a majority of votes, two
delegates, qualified as afore-
said; but if the said inhabi-
tants of the town shall so
decrease, as that the num-
ber of persons having right
of suffrage therein shall have

one half the number of
voters in some one county in
this State, such town thence-
forward shall cease to send
two delegates or representa-
tives to the house of dele-
gates, until the said town
shall have one half of the
number of voters in some one

Legislative
election : Date.

Sec. 7. The election for
Senators and Delegates shall
take place on the Tuesday
next, after the first Monday
in the month of November,
nineteen hundred and fifty-
eight, and in every- fourth
year thereafter.

Sec. 7. The first election
for Senators and Delegates
shall take place on the Tues-
day next, after the first
Monday in the month of
November, eighteen hundred
and sixty-seven; and the
election for Delegates, and
as nearly as practicable, for
one-half of the Senators,
shall be held on the same
day, in every second year
thereafter.

Sec. 6. The first election
for Senators and Delegates
shall take place on the Tues-
day next after the first Mon-
day in the month of Novem-
ber, eighteen hundred and
sixty-four; and the elections
for Delegates, and as nearly
as practicable for one-half
of the Senators, shall be held
on the same day in every
second year thereafter.

Sec. 5. The first election
for delegates shall take place
on the first Wednesday of
November, eighteen hundred
and fifty-one; and the elec-
tions for delegates, and for
one-half of the Senators, as
nearly as practicable, shall
be held on the same day in
i every second year thereafter,
but an election for senators
shall be held in the year
eighteen hundred and fifty-
one, in Howard county, and
; all those counties in which
senators were elected in the
year eighteen hundred and
forty-six.

2. ... and all freemen so
qualified shall, -on the first
Monday of October seven-
teen hundred and seventy-
seven, and on the same day
in every year thereafter, as-
semble in the counties in
which they are respectively
qualified to vote, at the
court-house in the said coun-
ties, or at such other place
at the legislature shall direct,
and when assembled they
shall proceed to elect, viva
voce, four delegates for
their respective counties, of
the most wise, sensible, and
discreet of the people, resi-
dents in the county where
they are to be chosen one
whole year next preceding
the election, above twenty-
one years of age, and having
in the State real or personal
property above the value of
five hundred pounds current
money, and upon the final
casting of the polls the four
persons who shall appear to
have the greatest number of
legal votes, shall be declared
and returned duly elected

Sec. 3. At the time and
place of holding elections in
the Several Counties of this
State, and in the City of
Baltimore for Delegates to
the General Assembly for
the December Session of the
year eighteen hundred and
thirty eight, ... an election
shall also be held in each of
the Several Counties of this
State, and in the City of
Baltimore respectively, for
the purpose of choosing a
Senator of the State of
Maryland, for and from such
County or said City, as the
case may be. . . .

Sec. 24. The elections to
be held in pursuance of this
act, shall be held on the first
Wednesday of October, in
the year eighteen hundred
and thirty eight, and for
the election of Delegates on
the same day in every year
thereafter, for the election
of Governor on the same day
