powers and
jurisdiction.

Sec. 2. The several Courts
existing in this State at the
time of the adoption of this
Constitution shall, until su-
perseded, under its provi-
sions, continue with like
powers and jurisdiction, and
in the exercise thereof, both
at Law and in Equity, in
all respects, as if this Con-
stitution had not been
adopted; and when said
Courts shall be so super-
seded, all causes, then de-
pending in said Courts, shall
pass into the jurisdiction of
the several Courts, by which
they may be, respectively,
superseded.

Sec. 2. The several Courts
existing in this State at the
time of the adoption of this
Constitution, shall, until su-
perseded under its provi-
sions, continue with like
powers and jurisdiction, and
in the exercise thereof, both
at Law and in Equity, in all
respects, as if this Constitu-
tion had not been adopted;
and when said Courts shall
be so superseded, all causes,
then depending in said
Courts, shall pass into the
jurisdiction of the several
Courts, by which they may
be respectively, superseded.

Sec. 2. The several Courts,
except as herein otherwise
provided, shall continue
with like powers and juris-
diction, both at law and in
equity, as if this Constitu-
tion had not been adopted,
and until the organization of
the Judicial Department pro-
vided by this Constitution.

Art. IV, sec. 27. When-
ever lands lie partly in one
county, and partly in an-
other, or partly in a county
and partly in the city of
Baltimore, or whenever per-
sons proper to be made de-
fendants to proceedings in
Chancery, reside some in one
county and some in another,
that court shall have juris-
diction in which proceedings
shall have been first com-
menced, subject to such
rules, regulations and altera-
tions as may be prescribed
by law.

Sec. 3. Vacant.

Sec. 3. The Governor,
and all officers, civil and
military, now holding office
under this State, whether by
election, or appointment,
shall continue to hold, exer-
cise and discharge the duties
of their offices (unless in-
consistent with, or otherwise
provided in this Constitu-
tion) until they shall be
superseded, under its pro-
visions, and until their suc-
cessors shall be duly quali-
fied.

Sec. 6. All officers, civil
and military, now holding
office, whether by election
or appointment under the
State, shall continue to hold
and exercise their offices,
according to their present
tenure, unless otherwise pro-
vided in this Constitution,
until they shall be super-
seded pursuant to its provi-
sions, and until their succes-
sors be duly qualified, and
the compensation of such
officers which has been in-
creased by this Constitution,
shall take effect from the
first day of January, eigh-
teen hundred and sixty-five.

Sec. 8. The Governor and

now holding commissions
under this State shall con-
tinue to hold and exercise
their offices, according to
their present tenure, until
they shall be superseded,
pursuant to the provisions
of this Constitution, and
until their successors be duly
qualified.
