The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the bill en-
titled, an Act to amend an Act entitled, an Act to authorize
the purchase or condemnation of certain lands in the city of
Annapolis, and in Anne Arundel county, for the public use
of the United States, as part of the Naval Academy, and to
cede to the United States concurrent jurisdiction over such
lands, and to exempt the same from taxation;

Which was read the first time, and
On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Was read the second and by special order, the third time
three-fourths concurring, and passed by yeas and nays asfollow:

Jump,

The bill entitled, an Act to appropriate twenty-five thou-
sand dollars for the erection of new buildings, and the en-
largement of the present buildings of the Maryland Peniten-
tiary, for the accommodation of convicts, and to authorize the
Governor to purchase ground adjacent to said Penitentiary,
and to improve the same,

Was read the first time,
On motion by Mr. Bowie,

Was read the second, and by special order the third time,
three-fourths concurring, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow:
