Mr. Waters moved a call of the Senate,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with.
The clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bill:

A bill entitled, an Act making appropriations for the sup-
port of the Government, for the year ending on the 1st day
of January, 1869;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

And returned the bill entitled, an Act to compensate
Ezekiel F. Chambers, for professional services rendered the
State;

Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays with the proposed
amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend title, by adding after the word "State," "and to
pay the Governor for expenses attending the reception of the
President of the United States, on the 15th day of September,
1866;"

And at end of section 1st, "and to the Governor, the sum
of fourteen hundred and seventeen dollars, to pay the expen-
ses attending the reception of the President of the United
States, on the 15th day of September, 1866;"

Which were read and adopted by yeas and nays as follow :
