and Punishments, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, extending the provisions of said section to Somerset,
Allegany, Washington, Anne Arundel, Frederick, Harford,
Prince George's, Baltimore, Talbot, Caroline, Cecil, and
Worcester counties;

Reported it with the following amendment:

Amend title, by striking out all after the word "repeal,"
in the first line, and insert the following, chapter 247, passed
January session, 1864, entitled "An Act to add an additional
section to article thirty of the Code of Public General Laws,
relating to Crimes and Punishments."

Amend first section, by striking out all after the word
"Maryland," in the first line down to the words "as follows"
in the fourth line inclusive, and insert the following: "that
the Act passed at January session, 1864, chapter 247, en-
titled, an Act to add an additional section to article thirty of
the Code of Public General Laws relating to Crimes and
Punishments, is hereby repealed, and re-enaeted so as to read.

Amend second section, by inserting after the word "Balti-
more," in the thirteenth line the word "Kent."

In the 10th line strike out the word "six" before the word
"months," and insert the word "two."

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Compton submitted the following amendment:

Amend, by adding "Queen Anne's, Montgomery, St. Ma-
ry's, Charles, Howard and Baltimore counties."

Which was read and adopted.

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

The bill was then read the third time by special order,
three-fourths concurring, and passed by yeas and nays as
follow:
