Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The bill entitled, an Act to add a new section to article
38, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to repeal certain
sections of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled, "Bail-
iffs ;"

Being under consideration,

Mr. Philpot submitted the following amendment:

Amend by striking out in section 4, second line, the word
"not."

Which was read and adopted.

Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays as follow :

Section 3, line 19, strike out all after the word "pay,"
and insert the following : "for all damage which may accrue
to said railway, or any.part thereof, by reason of such failure
or neglect."

Which was read and adopted.
