AN ACT authorizing the County Commissioners
of Prince George's county to dispose of the pre-
sent Alms house and to purchase or build
another. |
Authority to
sell. |
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commision-
ers of Prince George's county, be and are hereby
authorized to sell and convey the present Alms
house building and lot of ground, either at public
or private sale, and to build or purchase a proper
house and suitable tract of land, and in case they
shall sell the present Alms house and lot aforesaid,
the proceeds shall be applied to building or pur-
chasing a proper house and suitable tract of land; |
Proviso. |
provided, that the whole cost of executing this Act
shall not exceed fifteen thousand dollars. |
Levy of tax. |
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners are empowered to enter into any con-
tracts that may be necessary to carry out the pur-
poses of this Act, and shall levy in instalments of
one, two and three years, the sums necessary to
carry out the foregoing provisions. |
In force. |
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the day of its passage.

AN ACT to revive and amend the Act of incorpo-
ration of the town of New Windsor, in Carroll
county, passed at December Session, eighteen
hundred and forty-three, Chapter forty-seven,
and to repeal the fourteenth section thereof, and
re-enact the same with the following new and
additional sections. |
