Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the additional
Justice of the Peace and Constable authorized to
be appointed by this Act, for the fourteenth election
district of said county, in addition to the duties,
obligations and fees now prescribed by law as
appertaining to the said additional officers respec-
tively, shall be charged with the duty of preserv-
ing order at Crisfield in said district, and of en-
forcing the "Act to prevent interruption of the
navigation of Little Annamessex river in Somerset
county," passed at the present session of the Gene-
ral Assembly.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 322.

AN ACT to incorporate the Worcester and Som-
erset Railroad Company.

12,1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Samuel M. Costin, William J.
S. Clark, William Dryden, William H. Wilson,
James H. Young, William T. Hargiss, John T.
B. McMaster, John H, Dryden, William B. Cos-
tin, be and they are hereby appointed Commis-
sioners under the direction of whom subscriptions
may be received to the capital stock of the Wor-
cester and Somerset Railroad Company hereby in-
corporated, and they or a majority of them may
cause books to be opened at such times and places
as they may direct, for the purpose of receiving
subscriptions to the said capital stock of said com-
pany, after having given such notice of the times
and places of opening the same as they may deem
proper, and if such a subscription to the capital
stock of said company as is necessary for its incor-
poration be not previously obtained, the said books
may be opened from time to time during the period
of five years from the passage of this Act, at the
discretion of said commissioners or a majority of
