SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assem-
bly of Maryland, That John W. Crisfield, Michael
Somers and Hance Lawson, their associates, suc-
cessors and assigns, who may hereafter become
subscribers and stockholders, be and they are cre-
ated, constituted and made a body corporate for
the purpose of building, establishing and main-
taining at Crisfield, in Somerset county, a hotel
for public accommodation, under the name and
style of the "Annamessex Hotel Company," by
which name they shall have perpetual succession,
may sue and be sued, have and use a common seal,
acquire, possess and dispose of real and personal
estates, ordain and establish ordinances, regula-
tions and by-laws for its own government, and do
all such acts and things as are necessary and pro-
per to carry into effect this Act and promote the
object and design of the corporation hereby
created. |
Capital stock. |
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said corporation shall not be less than ten thou-
sand dollars or more than one hundred thousand
dollars, divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each, and on each share of stock there shall be
paid at the time of subscription the sum of ten dol-
lars to said associates or gome one of them, who are
hereby appointed Commissioners to organize the |
