of the said number of shares, shall have power to
call a general meeting of the stockholders, giving
at least fifteen days notice in said newspapers, pub-
lished in the city of Baltimore, specifying in such
notice the object of the meeting.

tional powers.

Sec. 18. And be it enacted. That a majority in
amount of the whole number of stockholders may
in their discretion, accept and exercise any addi-
tioned powers and privileges which may at any
time be conferred upon this company, either
amendments of this Act or by any other acts
hereafter to be passed.

Banking pri-
vileges prohib-
ited.

Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be so construed as to confer banking
privileges on said company to issue any note token,
scrip, device or other evidence of debt to be used
as currency.

In case of'
partial des-
truction.

Sec 20. And be it enacted. That in case of a par-
tial destruction by fire, the loss shall be determ-
ined to be appointed as follows : the person whose
property is insured shall have the privilege of se-
lecting one disinterested person, and in ten days
thereafter the board of directors of this company
shall select another, and in case of neglect or re-
fusal of said president and directors to appoint
such assessor within thirty days thereafter, then
the person whose property has been insured, shall
be authorized to appoint both assessors; should
those two persons disagree in the valuation of a
loss they shall select another disinterested person,
and the award of a majority shall be final and the
company shall pay the same within ninety days
after the date of their award.

Sec. 21. And be it enacted. That this Act shall
continue and be in force until the year eighteen
hundred and eighty-seven, and until the end of
the next session of the General Assembly, which
shall take place hereafter.

Reservation.

Sec. 22. And be it enacted, That the General
Assembly reserves to itself the right to alter,
amend or repeal this Act at pleasure.
