AN ACT entitled, an Act to authorize the Gov-
ernor to appoint an additional Justice of the
Peace for the Fourth Election District of Saint
Mary's county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Governor be and he is
hereby authorized to appoint an additional Justice
of the Peace for the several Election Districts, in
Saint Mary's county, in addition to the number
now required by law to be appointed in said
county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.

entitled, ' An Act to incorporate a company for
the purpose of cutting and making a canal
between the river Delaware and the Chesapeake
Bay,"' passed at November session, seventeen
hundred and ninety-nine, Chapter sixteen, and
also to amend a supplement thereto, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-
five, Chapter three hundred and seventy-nine.
