AN ACT to incorporate the "Maryland Fertiliz-
ing and Manufacturing Company."

tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Crichton, Charles J.
Baker, William Trego, Lawrence Sangston, Jos.
Rogers, Jr., Samuel G. Miles and such other per-
sons as with them or in their place shall become
stockholders in said corporation, their successors
or assigns, be and are hereby created a body cor-
porate and politic by the name and style of the
"Maryland Fertilizing and Manufacturing Com-
pany," and by that name may sue and be sued,
answer and defend in any Court of Law or of
Equity, and may ordain and establish such by-
laws, rules and regulations as shall appear neces-
sary for conducting the concerns of such corpora-
tion, not contrary to the laws of this State or of
the United States, and the same to change, alter
and amend as they may deem proper, and may
have and use a common seal and generally may
do any act or thing necessary or proper to carry
into effect the provisions of this Act and to pro-
mote the designs of the corporation.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration be and is hereby empowered to purchase,
manufacture and sell all the various compounds
used for fertilizing the soil, as well as the manu-
facture of the ingredients used in such compounds
and such manufacture generally as the corporators
may deem proper, and to acquire, have, hold and
improve real estate or personal property from time
to time, with the right to sell and dispose of the
same as may from time to time be deemed expe-
dient.

Capital stocks

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said corporation shall not exceed five hundred
thousand dollars, divided into shares of one hun-
dred dollars each, to be subscribed for under the
direction of a majority of the corporators named
in this Act.
