AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for ser-
vices rendered the State by Luther H. Gadd in
the adjustment and payment of claims for bounty
to volunteers, under the Act for eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-four providing for the payment
of bounty to volunteers. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is hereby di-
rected to pay, on the warrant of the Comptroller,
to Luther H. Gadd the sum of four hundred dol-
lars for services rendered the State in the ex-
amination and adjustment of claims for bounty to
volunteers, this sum to be paid out of the unex-
pended portion of the appropriation made under
chapter fifteen of eighteen hundred and sixty-four
for the payment of bounty to volunteers enlisted
in this State. |

upon warrant. |
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. |

AN ACT for the relief of Thomas Lusby, John
Haddaway and Samuel Franklin Smith, and to
appoint Commissioners to assess damages sus-
tained by them in the opening of a public road
through to their lands. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General assem-
bly of Maryland, That so much of the return of
examiners appointed by the County Commissioners
of Kent county to lay down a public road through
tile lands of Thomas Lusby and others to Chester
River, and to lay down a public landing on said
river, and of the judgment of the County Commis-
sioners relating to damages sustained by or com- |
