by an amount not exceeding the capital of the
Tyson Mining Company, and the evidence of such
union shall be the transfer by deed, duly acknow-
ledged and recorded, conveying to the Baltimore
Chrome Works the franchise and property of the
Tyson Mining Company.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from its passage, and may be repealed,
altered or amended at any time at the pleasure of
the Legislature.

CHAPTER 96.

AN ACT to add additional Sections to Article
Eleven of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Frederick County, relating to the powers and
duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and Council of
Frederick City, to follow Section one hundred
and forty-seven.

Passed Feb.
27, 1867.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the following sections be
added to Article eleven of the Code of Public Lo-
cal Laws of Frederick county, relating to the pow-
ers and duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and Coun-
cil of Frederick City, to follow section one-hundred
and forty-seven.

Sections.

148. The Mayor, Alderman and Common Coun-
cil of Frederick shall have full power and authori-
ty to erect one or more Markets within the corpor-
ate limits of the City of Frederick, and to purchase
all such real estate as may be necessary for such
purpose, and receive Deeds for the same.

149. That in case the said Mayor, Aldermen
and Common Council of Frederick and the party
or parties owning said real estate cannot agree
upon the price of such real estate, or the parties
owning the same shall be infants, idiots or luna-
tics, or absent from the county or State, or feme
